Emergency Dental Treatment
If you have a life-threatening or severe injury, call 911 or go directly to the nearest hospital emergency room. We can treat a variety of traumatic dental injuries, including teeth that have been chipped, moved, or knocked out entirely. Please call our office for assistance.
General Dentistry (Routine and Preventative Care)
During a routine dental exam and cleaning appointment, your mouth, teeth and gums are carefully inspected for signs of gum disease, loose or broken teeth or fillings as well as tooth decay. Dental x-rays will most likely be taken. Some exams will also require examining your head and neck as well as your bite and the movement of your jaw. Your teeth will be thoroughly cleaned, flossed, and polished, giving you a fresh, radiant smile.
Ultrasonic Cleanings and Exams
We use gentle cleaning techniques to keep your teeth healthy.
Our digital x-ray units emit up to 90% less radiation than traditional units.
This allows the patients to see clinical pictures of their cases.
The use of dental implants for treatment of missing teeth has proven to be the most effective and durable restorative option. In many instances, dental implants are a very logical choice for the restoration of the functionality of your teeth. We do single and multiple-tooth implants as well as full mouth reconstructions.
General Teeth and Wisdom Tooth Extractions
Regular tooth extractions and wisdom tooth extractions are common oral surgeries. In most cases, the recovery period lasts only a few days.
Over time, tooth enamel can become discolored and stained. We offer our patients an in-office whitening treatment that can lighten the color of your smile in just one hour.
One of the most modern cosmetic options for perfecting your smile are veneers. Porcelain veneers are used by attaching them directly to the existing tooth structure and can be used to cover permanently stained teeth and to close spaces between teeth.
Root Canal Therapy
Root canal treatment removes the infected nerve of the tooth. Most root canals can be completed in one visit.
Crowns and Bridges
Dental crowns, also called “caps,” preserve the functionality of damaged teeth. Crowns may be used to protect a cracked tooth, restore functionality of a tooth with excessive decay, or replace a pre-existing crown. We offer crowns made from porcelain, lava or high-noble gold alloy.
A dental bridge spans the space where one or more teeth have been lost. It is anchored by crowns on existing healthy teeth.
Dentures and Partials
We make comfortable, well-fit dentures and partials that look like your natural teeth. In addition, we can stabilize the denture and partial with implants.
We use high-quality “tooth colored” fillings to restore decayed teeth.
Gum Disease Treatments
We offer non-surgical gum therapy and Arestin Therapy to help fight gum infections. Whether you are in the early stages of gingivitis or have advanced periodontal disease, gum treatments will help improve your overall dental health.
Oral Cancer Screenings
This process involves looking for cancer before a patient has any signs or symptoms of cancer. When found early, abnormal tissue or cancer can be easier to treat.
Wisdom Teeth Removal
Many times, wisdom teeth don't have room to grow properly and cause problems. Under this circumstance, it may be necessary to have them removed.
Periodontal Disease Treatment
Dr. Mike Nguyen of Highland Dental in Smyrna, GA, offers periodontal therapy to prevent and treat the signs and symptoms of gum disease.
Emergency Dental Care
Seeing an emergency dentist as quickly as possible can save you money by preventing future problems and in most cases, pain is relieved or significantly reduced immediately following treatment.
Dental bonding uses a tooth-colored, bio-compatible composite resin to hide flaws in the teeth.
Cosmetic dentistry can brighten dull teeth, whiten stained teeth, close gaps between teeth, repair chipped teeth, mask metal fillings, and straighten crooked teeth.
If you have missing teeth, there are a number of options available including dental bridges.
Atlanta dentist Michael Nguyen specializes in the replacement of missing teeth and offers a wide range of cosmetic options.
